Kyrgyz Geophysical Expedition
The Kyrgyz Geophysical Expedition is an independent business entity; administratively it is part of the State Agency on Geology and Mineral Resources of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Expedition was founded in 1957 and for more than 50 years it has been specialising in conducting geophysical surveys and geochemical studies, mining and geological work and laboratory research. The Expedition is staffed with highly qualified personnel, all the required special equipment and instrumentation, computers, software, vehicles, sufficient to conduct a broad range of geophysical, geological and geochemical studies. The Expedition is licensed to carry out work on any survey targets throughout the Kyrgyz Republic. Most of the work, up to 70 – 80% of the total research scope of the Expedition is being carried out under contractor agreements at the licensed areas of domestic and foreign investors.
Currently, the expedition comprises: Prospecting Geophysical Party and geophysical logging group, conducting geophysical operations mainly at the north of the country and the Alai Integrated Geophysical Party that conducts similar studies at the south. In addition, the Expedition has a laboratory conducting sample preparation (crushing and abrasion tests), and spectral analyses spectrometric analysis for gold and spectral analysis along with core splitting and analysing the physical properties of drill core.
